It has been my privilege to be affirmed and empowered by my community since launching this website several years ago. Powerful responses poured in from throughout an ever-growing network of adopted kinfolk whose stories continue to shape my own and on whose shoulders I still stand. The overwhelming response to my first blog entries ("The Gospel According to Manny Pacquiao," "Letting Black Lives Matter to the Blacks of Asia," and my three-part series "Finding Our Place: Filipino Americans in White/Black Racial Conflict") began online and led to countless invitations into very sacred spaces- churches, campus ministries, ethnic identity/empowerment conferences, denominational gatherings, pastors' conferences, online and print publications, etc.
As these opportunities have expanded, my own vocation has slowly grown clearer, presently locating me in a strange orbit of family life, local church leadership, theological education, conference speaking, and academic research (mainly at the Filipino American intersections of theology, ethics, American Christianity, and politics). Whenever and wherever my perspective is welcomed, I am aware of my responsibility to God, my ancestors, my family, and spiritual forebears. And I remain committed to giving my best in each aspect of my calling during this season. For this reason, I've taken down most of my old blog entries instead of trying to update them. In the Spirit of honest exchange, I no longer prefer to leave them hanging out there as static monologues. And yet, I am happy to be available for conversation or professional consultation, so please contact me here if you desire to connect!
